Host Terms of Service

Welcome to the HeyStudent platform (heystudent.com), designed specifically for students, offering a wide range of rental options including apartments, rooms, houses, flats, maisonettes, and more, making the rental process easier and more accessible. At the same time, it provides property owners and prospective hosts with the opportunity to list their properties and connect with suitable Students, based on their preferred rental terms and duration.

These Host Terms of Service constitute a binding legal agreement between HeyStudent SINGLE MEMBER PRIVATE COMPANY ("Company") and property owners/hosts who wish to list their properties on the platform.

1. Host Responsibilities

As a Host on the HeyStudent platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and up-to-date information about your properties
• Maintain your properties in good condition and as described
• Comply with all applicable local laws and regulations
• Respond to booking requests and communications in a timely manner
• Honor confirmed bookings and rental agreements

2. Property Listings

All property listings must include accurate descriptions, current photos, and correct pricing. The Company reserves the right to remove listings that do not meet our quality standards or violate these terms.

3. Payments and Commissions

Payments will be processed through Stripe Connect, and payouts will be released according to the agreed schedule.

4. Cancellation Policy

Hosts may not cancel confirmed bookings except in extraordinary circumstances. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension or termination. Any cancellations must be reported immediately to HeyStudent support.

5. Verification Requirements

All hosts must complete identity verification through our Persona system and provide proof of property ownership or legal right to rent. This includes:

• Valid government-issued ID or passport
• Proof of property ownership or rental authorization
• Tax identification information where required
• Bank account details for payouts

6. Liability and Insurance

Hosts are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their properties. HeyStudent provides damage protection services, but hosts remain primarily liable for their properties and any incidents that occur.

7. Communication Guidelines

All initial communications between hosts and students must occur through the HeyStudent platform. After a booking is confirmed, contact details will be shared for direct communication. Hosts must maintain professional and respectful communication at all times.

8. Compliance and Legal Requirements

Hosts must comply with all applicable laws, including but not limited to:

• Local rental and housing regulations
• Tax obligations and reporting requirements
• Safety and building codes
• Anti-discrimination laws
• Data protection and privacy regulations

9. Account Termination

HeyStudent reserves the right to suspend or terminate host accounts for violations of these terms, fraudulent activity, or failure to meet platform standards. Hosts may also terminate their accounts with appropriate notice.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes between hosts and students will be mediated by HeyStudent for a period of 5 calendar days following the student's departure. For other disputes, the terms shall be governed by Greek law and resolved in Athens courts.
